Shipping DHL Germany

Price increase will affect businesses & customers

DHL is set to change the price from 1st July 2022 for ‘vinyl-sized’ shipments are set to significantly raise the cost of shipping vinyl from Germany to the rest of the globe.

Shipping two records from Germany to the majority of the world currently costs around €6, but under the new guidelines, this could rise to €19.98. Shipping to a UK location will cost around €16.70.

In a bid to pressure on DHL, a petition has been launched on Change.org

Overview

German Post/DHL will reduce the dimensions for ‘Warenpost International’ (shipment of goods) packages to just 25 cm. That means that, unless we act, beginning July 1st, 12″ records will no longer fit in the boxes assigned to this media.

The cheapest option left then would be Päckchen M International, which can cost two-to-three times the amount of Warenpost.

That would result in average shipping cost of one or two records (especially less expensive records) becoming ridiculously expensive, even more so after customs tax and handling fees added on.
