It’s official: vinyl is on the up with sales across the world at their highest point since the 90’s.

With that in mind, here are some of the shops you should visit in London.

DnR Vinyl [South]

DnR Vinyl - South London

This south London store has held its name in the game since the early 2000s with DJs travelling from miles away to get their hands on the stock.

DnR mainly specialises in new & old UK Garage and Dubstep but you will also find Grime, Funky with some Breaks & Jungle in the racks…

Planet Wax (previously known as Disc World) [South East]

Located in-between New Cross and New Cross Gate train station, Planet Wax has recently moved from Deptford and now sits on Nww Cross Road.

Specialising in a range of Dubstep, Jungle, House, Techno and UK Garage Vinyl, this store might be small but it is full of sounds and hosts regular in-store parties.

Flashback [East/North]
Flashback

Flashback have three different stores in London and have been in the game for around 20 years but the one I have visited many times is a 5 minute walk from Shoreditch overground station, right next to Brick Lane.

This branch opened back in 2014 and consists of two floors brimming with new and pre-loved vinyl with a few hidden gems in the racks.

Jelly Records [East]

Jelly Records

A hidden basement located underneath a vintage shop deep in East London. It might be a small spot but you will find some great records in the boxes with Funk, Soul, Jazz, UK Garage and Disco in stock.

There is also a market that takes place outside so grab a record and have a stroll.

KINDRED [North/East Central]

KINDRED Central London

KINDRED opened its doors in Clerkenwell on 7th August 2020 after hosting regular parties before COVID happened.

Not only does the store sell a variety of vinyl records but you will also find art, books and cassette tapes on the shelves.

If that’s not enough, they also host a weekly radio station with live shows in-store!

Kristina Records[East]

Kristina Records

Originally based in Stoke Newington before moving into ‘The Cause’ temporarily, eventually settling into Wells Street, Hackney in 2019.

Kristina Records is an independent store stocking new & used vinyl, with coffee and craft beers also on offer whilst you browse.

A store known for having the shelves filled with Electronic dance music.

Next Door Records [West]

Next Door records

A vinyl record shop, bar and café rolled into one.

Founded by three friends during the first lockdown in 2020, this store is a must visit if you want to browse music whilst grabbing a bite to eat.

Phonica [Central]

Phonica Soho

Soho has been home to Phonica since 2003 and it is widely considered one of the best record shops in the world.

You will find the crates fully stocked with Electronic dance music and regular in-store gigs.

Shrubs & Dubs [East]

Shrubs & Dubs

If you love plants and music, this store is for you.

Founded in 2021 by a couple who are DJs and creatives with one designing custom-made plant pots which are sold alongside the vinyl shelves.

Records in-store are provided by AsideBside and you will find regular DJ live streams and events taking place.
